Dennis Paul Richardson, age 67, of Twin Oaks Road, Wellington, passed away Friday, April 24, 2020, at his home.
Born December 9, 1952, in Morehead, he is the son of Lottie Mabry Richardson of Clearfield and the late Clifford Carl Richardson. He was also preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Keisha Shelton; maternal grandparents, David and Lena Mabry; paternal grandparents, Burrel and Bertha Richardson; and sister-in-law, Kathy Richardson.
In addition to his mother, Dennis is survived by his wife of almost 26 years, Kay Oliver Richardson, whom he married April 29, 1994; children, Tierney Danielle Richardson of Wellington and Brandon Chase Richardson of Mt. Sterling; stepchildren, Tim Thompson (Rachelle) of Salt Lick, Brittany Robinette (Brian) of Wellington, and Tina Thompson of Bath County; and grandchildren, Jacob Armstrong, Colton Armstrong, Erin Craycraft, Regan Craycraft, Kenzie Thompson, Chynah Thompson, Caden Armstrong, a special granddaughter he raised as his own, Kaylin Thompson; and one great granddaughter, Amelia Craycraft.
Other survivors include siblings, Jeff Richardson of Morehead and Terri Thomas (Larry) of Clearfield; and special nieces, Lynn and Sarah Richardson, whom he loved very much and was there during his time of need. The family wishes to express their great appreciation to the Hospice nurses and Dr. Sanders for their compassionate care.
Dennis retired from Cooper Tire in Mt. Sterling in 2010. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, fill-in puzzles, watching Westerns and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He attended the Salt Lick First Church of God.
Due to COVID-19 requirements set forth by Governor Andy Beshear, a private family visitation and service will be held Monday, April 27, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Pastor Vernon Lambert officiating. Private burial will follow at Crix Cemetery.
