Delmane "Del" Simmons

Delmane “Del” Simmons, age 57, of Bearskin Hollow, Morehead, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born January 2, 1962, in Mount Sterling, the only child of the late Ernest Edward Simmons and Lois Evelyn Wagoner Simmons. 

Del is survived by his former wife and lifelong companion, Shirley Brewer Simmons; his children, Jessica Ann (Barry) Lewis of West Liberty, Mary Jo Noone of King William, Virginia, Joshua Delmaine Simmons of Morehead, Angel (Patrick) Simpson of Morehead; stepson, Joey Brewer of Morehead; 11 grandchildren, Cheyenne Simmons, Austin Adams, Bryson Simpson, Zander Fultz, Aaron Simmons, Skyla Fultz, Robert Fultz, Alexis Stigall, Kierra Simpson, Aaralyn Simmons, and Aashlyn Simmons; extended family and many friends. 

Del enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.  But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his pride and joy—his grandchildren.  Another favorite pastime was going out dancing with his lifelong companion Shirley. He will be greatly missed.

A visitation for family and friends to celebrate Del’s life will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2019, at the Carl D. Perkins Community Center, 100 Crayton Jackson Lane, Morehead, KY 40351.
