Delma L. Prater, age 90, of Wrigley Road, West Liberty, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Elliott Nursing and Rehab in Sandy Hook.
Born March 27, 1930, in Elliott County, she was a daughter of the late Fred Whitt and Edith Horton Whitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death one brother, Fred Carl Whitt; four sisters, Mauverine Kegley, Irene Kidd, Hortense Fannin, and Rebecca Gay Winkleman; the father of her children, Herman Stegall; one son, Jeffrey Stegall; two daughters, Rachel Sanford and Christy Butler; and her second husband, Carl Prater.
Delma is survived by two daughters: Shirley Barr and Sharon Whittington, both of Dayton, Ohio; one brother, Aubrey Whitt of Morehead; four sisters, Marmette Fannin Hitch, Sabrey Lucille Pennington DeBord, and Barbara Reynolds, all of Morehead and Louise Pennington of Athens, Ohio; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Delma was a faithful Christian and member of the Apostolic Church. She was a hard-working and devoted mother and loving sister who enjoyed spending her last years in Kentucky. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Daniel Long officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
On Monday, August 10, 2020, visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with interment immediately following at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 8200 West National Road, New Carlisle, OH 45344
