Deborah Goodpaster Obituary

Deborah Kaye Lawwill Goodpaster, age 59, of Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, passed away Monday, June 24, 2019, at her daughter’s residence with her family by her side.

Born July 26, 1959, in Mount Sterling, Debbie was the daughter of the late John David Harvey and Pearl Lawwill.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Ray and Bob Harvey and Cecil, Charles, and Carl Lawwill, and three sisters, Nora and Carolyn Harvey and Bonnie Lawwill.

She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Goodpaster-Otis and husband Richard, and her son, Johnny Goodpaster and wife Ceara, all of Morehead; six grandchildren, Caitlin Crump, David Strange, Dakota Ballard, and Jeridan, Braiden and Bryleigh Goodpaster; and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first great granddaughter, Addileigh.

Other survivors include two sisters and one brother, Barbara Gibbs, Ruby Pitts, and Tommy Harvey, all of Mount Sterling; many nieces, nephews, and other family members, as well as a lifelong friend, Alvin Caudill, and special friend, Bronson Banks.

Debbie was a waitress at Jerry’s Restaurant in Mount Sterling for a number of years before moving to Morehead in 2017.  She enjoyed the water, fishing, coloring, and anything to do with horses. She could enjoy corn on the cob like none other! Debbie also greatly enjoyed her friends and family and would like to remind Stevie that she no longer needs his washer and dryer.  Debbie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies, and loved each one unconditionally.  She will be tremendously missed by her family and friends.
