Debbie Arlene Tackett, age 70, of Dunkirk, Indiana, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, peacefully while in the company of family members at her residence.
Debbie was born in Pleasant City, Kentucky, on December 5, 1953, a daughter of the late Betty (Gee) and John McDaniel.
She was a 1972 graduate of West Carter High School and was formerly employed by Franklin Electric Bluffton Motor Works.
Debbie was the loving wife of Kenney Ray Tackett Sr. who she happily married on May 5, 1973, and sadly lost on February 22, 2013.
She was a feisty, yet loving and protective mama bear who knew hard work, dedication to her family and was a member of the Crowne City Cruisers. Debbie loved Kentucky basketball, collecting angels, her dogs, watching mystery shows, attending car shows, and knitting.
She is survived by her two children, Kenney Ray Tackett Jr. (Angie) and Jennifer Ann Tackett; one brother, Charles McDaniel (Debra); two sisters, Paula McVicker and Mary Harcarik; one granddaughter, Savannah Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenney, an infant daughter, Tammy R. Tackett; and one sister, Sally McDaniel.
Friends are invited to call Friday, October 4, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at MJS Mortuaries - Redkey Chapel.
There will also be visitation on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals, Inc., 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY. 40351.
Funeral services will follow in Kentucky at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2024, with Pastor Bobby Tackett officiating. Burial will be held in Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Local services have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries - Redkey Chapel in Redkey, Indiana.
