David Allen Carpenter

David Allen Carpenter, age 68, of Short Street, Morehead, passed away Monday, January 23, 2023, at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born October 31, 1954, in Lewis County, he was a son of the late Carl Carpenter and Rosie Kimbler Carpenter. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Rosetta Smith Carpenter, who passed away January 10, 2022; one son, David Allen Carpenter; one daughter Pearl Ann Carpenter; three brothers, Marlin Carpenter, Erza Carpenter, and Mark Carpenter; and one sister, Thlema Darlington.

He is survived by one daughter, Debra Carpenter of Morehead, five brothers, Kenneth (Minnie) Carpenter, Gary (Pat) Carpenter, and Robin (Betty) Carpenter, all of Vanceburg, Bill (Karen) Carpenter and Fred (Connie) Carpenter, both of Flemingsburg; five sisters, Fredia Jarrell and Brenda (Billy) Cropper, both of Vanceburg, Lizzie Carpenter and Annie (Tommie)Reid, both of Flemingsburg, and Donna (John) Hesler of Maysville; several nieces and nephews; his special cat, “Tommy Ray”; and other extended family and friends. He will be missed by all.

Allen was a farmer and was of the Pentecostal faith. He enjoyed attending church, singing gospel music, fishing, taking walks, working on small engines, and especially loved spending time with all of his family.  

Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery on Holly Road in Vanceburg.

Pallbearers:  Gary Carpenter, Kenneth Carpenter, Willie Jarrells, Jacob Carpenter, Robert Carpenter, and Corey Carpenter.  Honorary pallbearers: Fred Carpenter, Bill Carpenter, and Robin Carpenter.
 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
