Daniel Lewis Fackler, age 83, of Morehead, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at UK St. Claire Hospital in Morehead.
Daniel was born October 22, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Richard Donley Fackler and Martha J. Koogler Fackler. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard D. Fackler, Jr., Joseph Fackler, Gregory Fackler, and Michael Fackler.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon L. Caskey Fackler, whom he married February 23, 1979; two sons, Daniel Fackler, Jr. (Kim) of Dayton, Ohio, and Ronald Fackler of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Paula Eldred of Dayton, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Tammy McBrayer Sexton of Morehead; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Other survivors include three sisters, Yvonne Fackler of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marian Perkins of Toledo, Ohio, and Diana Beyer (Bernard) of Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, David Fackler (Judy) of Toledo, Ohio, and Jack Fackler (Ellen) of Dayton, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Daniel served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963. He was a general foreman for Chrysler Corporation in Dayton, Ohio, for 30 years. Upon retirement, he moved to Morehead in 1994.
Daniel was a member of the Morehead First Church of God. He enjoyed taking rides in his pickup trucks and spending countless hours rocking in his rocking chair. Daniel will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Aryn Merritt and Bernard Beyer officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
