Damas Farrell Ramey, age 67, of Pikeville, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 29, 2025, at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead, Kentucky.
He was born January 8, 1958, in Pikeville, Kentucky, the son of the late Grady Ramey and Nellie Marie (Castle) Ramey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Ramey and Dranhan Ramey.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Naomi (Kidd) Ramey, whom he married July 12, 1982; two daughters, Kristi Thacker of Pikeville, KY and Amanda (Darrell) Davis of Morehead, KY; one grandson, Damian Thacker, and beloved grand pup, Baxter.
Other survivors include a brother, Dennis (Lynne) Ramey and three sisters, Linda (Keith) Duty, Laura Ramey and Karen Ramey, as well as an array of nephews and nieces.
Damas retired after 29½ years from the Pike County Fiscal Court. He did emergency and rescue training, got his electrical license, spent hours at the floodwall and finished his career as the Deputy Commissioner of Public Works.
Damas was a selfless man that would help anyone, anytime. Even while battling heart disease, he would drive hours to help someone—be it family, friends, or strangers.
Damas enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, UK basketball, attending church, and spending time with family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Caldwell officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
