Christine "Chris" Lynn (Henderson) Tackett

Christine "Chris" Lynn Henderson Thornsberry Tackett, age 58, of Morehead, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born July 18, 1967, in Norfolk, Virginia, she is the daughter of Frank A. Henderson and Janice Nicoli Henderson of Morehead.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 25 years, Dave Tackett, whom she married on December 23, 2000; one son, Cory Thornsberry of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one daughter, Erin Thornsberry Prater (Kyle) of Morehead; and one stepson, Jason Tackett of Morehead.

Other survivors include three sisters, Nancy Wilson of Beaverton, Oregon, Patricia Lee Dagley of Virginia, and Jo Ann Winterton of California; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Chris retired in 2024 from Morehead State University, where she served as a secretary at the Wellness Center. She was a 1985 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School. Chris enjoyed reading, playing games on her iPad, and spending time with her family. Above all, she loved her children dearly.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

At Chris’s request, there will be no visitation or services.
