Chloe Peyton Mays, age 57, of Wellington, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Wolfe County Health Care and Rehab in Campton.
Born May 24, 1963, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Curtis Waldo Peyton and Jessie Madeline Brown Peyton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Amber Lynn and one brother, Ernest Peyton.
Chloe is survived by her husband, Roy Mays; a step son, Dorsey Mays of Menifee County; a step daughter, Callie Hensley (Robert) of Winchester; and three grandchildren, Areva, Luke, and Leevi Hensley.
Other survivors include six brothers and sisters: Patty Hall (James) of Wellington, Bert Peyton of Morehead, Betty Fossett (Tommy) of Morehead, Judy Brewer (James) of Morehead, Linda Thurman (Billy) of Wellington, and James Peyton of Morehead; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family members.
Chloe had been employed as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) at the Wolfe County Health Care and Rehab for a number of years and attended Korea Church of God. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Hale and Thomas Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Peyton Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Dalton Mays, Thomas Mays, Bert Peyton, Bucky Catron, Josh Back, Jimmy Brewer, Jim Peyton, and Shane Ackerman.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
