Charlotte Lois Black Stidom, age 60, of Indianapolis, Indiana, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family and dear friends.
Charlotte was born on July 5, 1961 in Morehead, Kentucky, to the late Marvin Clay Black and Audrey Jean Eldridge Black. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Larry David Stidom, whom she married September 24, 1983; one son, Kyle (Kellie) Stidom of Littleton, Colorado; one grandson, Crew Stidom of Littleton, Colorado; and her mother, Audrey Black of Morehead, Kentucky. Other survivors include one brother, Danny Marvin Black of Morehead, Kentucky; one niece, Jessica (Richard) Dixon of Clearfield, Kentucky; and one great niece, Elizabeth Dixon of Clearfield, Kentucky.
Charlotte grew up in Morehead, Kentucky, and was a graduate of Rowan County High School where she was awarded valedictorian of her class 1979, an accomplishment she was always proud of. After high school, she attended and graduated from Morehead State University. Charlotte then met her husband Larry at his record store in Morehead on a search for bluegrass records. They quickly fell in love, got married, and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. In Indianapolis, she worked at CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions, where she was a faithful leader, helper, and servant for all she cared for and worked with for 34 years.
Charlotte filled her home with bluegrass music, decorated her walls with pictures of her beloved family, and loved researching her family’s genealogy. She could often be found working on and sharing her newest picture albums of her loved ones with her friends. She will be remembered for her tenacity in her battle with cancer, never giving up, and fighting with all she had to the very end, without a whisper of complaint. But most importantly, Charlotte will be remembered as a kind, gentle, generous, and gracious follower of Jesus who never met anyone who wasn’t a friend.
There will be two services to honor Charlotte’s life, one in Indianapolis, Indiana, and one in Morehead, Kentucky.
Visitation in Indianapolis will be on Sunday, June 26, 2022, from 2 pm to 4 pm, with a service to follow with Pastor Travis Penn officiating from 4 pm to 5 pm at Crosslife Church, 7030 East Stop 11 Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana 46259.
