Obituary

Charles Edward “Ed” Adkins, age 79, of Kegley Ridge, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Born August 5, 1944, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Lilly Trent Adkins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Troy Adkins and Kenny Adkins.

Ed is survived by eight brothers and sisters: Delmer Adkins, Leroy Adkins, Alta Franks, and Coy Adkins, all of Morehead, Everett Adkins and Bonnie Boggs, both of Tennessee, and Jack Adkins and Mary Jo Mabry, both of Ohio. Other survivors include his best friend, Angie Randolph of Morehead; nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Ed was a former employee in an automotive factory in Dayton, Ohio, a part-time farmer, and an outdoorsman. He enjoyed family and friends and will be greatly missed.

At his request, a private graveside service will be held in the Adkins Cemetery, Kegley Ridge, Morehead.
