Charles “Chuck” Douglas Cooper, age 72, of Latimer Heights, Danville, formerly of Morehead, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born February 14, 1954, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Douglas Johnson Cooper and Laura Jane Kinder Cooper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Beatrice Justice.
Chuck is survived by the mother of his children, Beverly Gilbert of Danville; one son, Steven (Crystal) Cooper of Yosemite, Kentucky; one daughter, Lisa Amanda Parson of Harrodsburg; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include four brothers, Lawrence Wayne Cooper, George Ray Cooper, Forrest Lane (Mildred) Cooper, and Wiley Dennis Cooper, all of Flemingsburg; several nieces and nephews; as well as extended family and friends.
Chuck was a self-employed carpenter and a former logger. He enjoyed riding and showing horses, skipping rocks at Cedar Creek, fishing, and hunting, especially deer hunting. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Terry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery on Kinder Branch in Morehead.
Pallbearers will be Steven Cooper, Ashton Cooper, Jesse Parson, Jonathan Parson, Lisa Parson, and Summer Cooper.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, Kentucky.
