Charles Jimmie Hampton, 81, of Logan Hollow, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at University of Kentucky Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
Born May 21, 1940, in Menifee County, he was the son of the late William and Mary Ginter Hampton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Aileen Catron Hampton on December 12, 1998.
He is survived by two sons, Larry J. Hampton and Jimmie D. Hampton, both of Morehead; one sister, Judy Ledford of Clearfield; four grandsons, John J. Hampton, Bram A. (Sophia) Hampton, Joseph D. Hampton, and Calvin J. Hampton; two great granddaughters, Addison Hampton and Peighton Hampton; and other extended family and friends.
Charles retired from Larry Fannin Chevrolet after 54 years as parts manager and loved farming and raising cattle and tobacco. He enjoyed fishing and watching U.K. basketball.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Aaron Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Bram Hampton, Joseph Hampton, Calvin Hampton, John Hampton, Darrell Ledford, and Kyle Ledford.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
