Carlos Neil “Nick” Ellis, 89, of Pleasant Valley, Morehead, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born September 2, 1931, at Cogswell in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Charlie T. Ellis and Faye Reed Ellis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Hubert Elwood Ellis, and one sister, Billie Jo Ellis Lambert.
Nick is survived by three sons, Jeffrey “Jeff” Ellis of Trafalgar, Indiana, Kevin Ellis and Timothy Ellis, both of Indianapolis, Indiana; companion, Judy Martin of Morehead; numerous grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired truck driver. Nick was a member of the Salt Lick Church of God and enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music, telling jokes, attending family reunions, riding motorcycles, and taking care of his Corgi “Bootsie.”
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Johnny Hatfield officiating. For those who want to participate in the service virtually, the service will be live streamed at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Facebook page beginning at 2 p.m.
Burial will follow in New Alfrey Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
