“Buster” Lloyd Luther Anderson, age 81, of Morehead, Kentucky, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at St. Claire Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born May 1, 1941, in Morehead, KY, he was the son of the late Willie T. Anderson, Sr. and Carrie Caudill Anderson.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna Templeman Anderson, whom he married December 23, 1961; two sons: Anthony (Lisa) Anderson and Paul (Vicki) Anderson; two granddaughters: Abby Lynn Anderson and Amy Leigh Anderson; one brother: Claude Anderson and his wife Norma.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one granddaughter: Carrie Marie Anderson; one nephew: Jeffery Kane Anderson; seven brothers, Delmer, Jesse, Earl, Dallas, Roy, Clester, and Bill; and twin sisters: Nina Bowman and Tina Ward.
Other survivors include very special nephews Joseph (Jennifer) Anderson and Dwayne (Emily) Anderson who were more like sons to him. He had numerous other nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and meant so much to him. He had a favorite sister-in-law and brother-in-law who meant the world to him: Karen Templeman Dann and Nick Dann.
Buster was a life-long farmer, raising cattle, tobacco, corn and hay, along with his brother Claude and their sons Anthony, Paul, Dwayne and Joe. He was blessed to be able to do something he loved so much for more than 60 years. He was a great gardener and loved to coon hunt. He cherished his three dogs: Tip, Cash, and Merle Haggard. He was awarded Young Farmer of the Year in Rowan County by the Jaycees in 1979. Buster was a man who didn’t have much to say but had more knowledge of farming and everyday life than most people. He dearly loved his granddaughters and loved playing and helping them with their projects and animals. He was a member of Cranston First Church of God.
The family would like to thank the Route 377 Fire Department personnel, especially Darren Blevins; Morehead-Rowan County EMS personnel; St. Claire Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Room, ICU Unit, Third and Fifth Floor staff, and the Respiratory Department therapists for the wonderful, caring and loving service they gave to us along with St. Claire Hospice staff, especially Dr. Sanders.
