Brittany Rhea Gibson

Brittany Rhea Gibson, age 38, of Mynhier Road, Morehead, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, at UK–St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

She was born October 29, 1987, in Floyd County, a daughter of William “Bill” Gibson and Debbie Stegall Gibson of Morehead.

Besides her parents, Brittany is survived by her beloved son, Bryson Ray Smith of Morehead, who was the joy of her life, along with other extended family members and many friends.

Brittany was a 2006 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School and earned a degree in billing and coding from Morehead State University. She was presently employed at Allen’s IGA in Morehead.

She enjoyed drawing, listening to music, and most of all spending time with her son—playing, laughing, and being silly together. Bryson was her most cherished possession, and her love for him was evident to everyone who knew her.

Brittany will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Russ Gibson and Maxine Prather Gibson, and her maternal grandparents, Joe Stegall and Billie Yates Stegall.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel, with Brother David Keaton officiating.  Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bryson Smith, Bill Gibson, Tommy Rister, Scott Lambert, Jelly Sutton, and Tommy Rister.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
