Bonnie Lou Sloan, age 70, a Park Hills resident in Morehead for more than 30 years, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024, at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation in Grayson.
Born October 28, 1953, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Sloan and Verneda Brown Sloan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Sue Waddell.
Bonnie is survived by one daughter, Michele Walters and Steve of Morehead; two sons, Curtis Fannin and Annette of Clearfield and Rory Fannin and Amanda of Fleming County; eight grandchildren: David “DT” Fannin, Katie Fannin Tackett, Charlie Fannin, Madison Walters, Alex Walters, Austin Fannin, Caleb Fannin, and Kenna Waddell; and three great grandchildren, Marley Walters, Porter Waddell, and Nial Tackett.
Other survivors include three sisters, Denise Conn and Donna Conn, both of Soldier, and Marie Skaggs of Carter County; three brothers, Randell Sloan, Leonard Sloan, and Shannon Sloan, all of Soldier; as well as nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Bonnie earned an Associate of Applied Business Degree from MSU and was the Assistant Director of Support Services at Morehead State University for 29 years. In addition to her work, she enjoyed gardening and most of all spending time with family, especially the grandchildren and attending ballgames with DT. She will be greatly missed and remembered with love.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Paster Greg Bowman officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Walters, Alex Walters, Austin Fannin, Caleb Fannin, Charlie Fannin, Leonard Sloan, and Shannon Sloan.
Visitation for Bonnie Lou Sloan will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
