Bobby Allen Stamper, Sr., age 84, of Cherry Lane, Salt Lick, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at U. K. Medical Center in Lexington.
Born May 13, 1937, in Rooney, Kentucky, he was the son of the late George Washington Stamper and Cloey Elizabeth McGlone Stamper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Allen Stamper, Jr. and Anthony Lee Stamper; five brothers, Junior, Bill, Harlan, Calvin, and James Stamper; three sisters, Cova Frazier Garvin, Janet Raye Lewis Stone, and Myrtle McGlone; and a son-in-law, Jimmy McGuire.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Ann Cline Stamper, whom he married May 18, 1957; two sons, Richard Allen “Ricky” Stamper and wife Vickie of Olive Hill and Johnny Wade Stamper and wife Donna of Soldier; one daughter, Lisa Dawn McGuire of Morehead; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bobby, who spent most of his life as a self-employed construction worker and concrete finisher, built several homes, businesses, and apartments in and around Rowan County. He also established several subdivisions within the area. Bobby especially enjoyed feeding and raising his catfish.
Funeral services will be 12 noon Friday, August 20, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Daniel Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Carter County.
Pallbearers will be his two sons and grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Friday, August 20, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
