Betty Kiser Hall Obituary

Betty Kiser Johnson Hall, of Wallingford, passed away July 1, 2020, at Life Care Center of Morehead after an extended illness.

Born September 26, 1938, in Morehead, she was a daughter of the late Hiram Ashbrook Kiser and Fannie Jane Roberts Kiser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lonnie B. Johnson, who died May 12, 1984. Also preceding her in death were four brothers: Jeff Kiser, Chester Kiser, Wayne Kiser, Charles Edd Kiser, and three sisters: Goldie Keeys, Pauline Mellott, and Ruby Fannin.

Betty is survived by her husband, Gene "Butch" Hall of Wallingford, whom she married January 10, 1995; one daughter, Natalie Johnson Caudill (Ron) of Mt. Sterling; one stepson, Darrin Hall (Christy); two step grandchildren, Josh Hall and Brittany Hall; two step great grandchildren, Braelyn and Noah Zimmerman all of Greenup.

She is also survived by three sisters: Olive Whetsel of Fort Wayne, IN, Lil Kiser of Morehead, and Lou Selby of Flemingsburg, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

In December of 1994, after 35 years of service, Mrs. Hall retired from GTE of Morehead.  A woman of faith, she was a lifelong member of Mt. Pisgah Christian Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Church Secretary, and Choir Member. She was known for her delicious "sugar cream pies" that were requested for most church dinners. She also served and was a founding member of the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Committee, where she collected funds for many years to ensure the beautification of the cemetery where her family is buried. She enjoyed reading, gardening, painting, coloring, cross- stitching, and traveling across the United States with her husband and sisters.
