Berry Kidd, Jr., age 65, of Weaver Ridge Road, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Born April 18, 1955, in Morgan County, Junior was the son of the late Berry and Lillian L. Black Kidd. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 12 years, Gracie Lenora “Nora” Boggs Kidd on November 8, 2019; two sisters, Irene Kidd Lewis and Ivory Kidd Wright; one brother, Troy Kidd; and two brothers-in-law, Herbert Ray Lewis and Curtis Gibson.
Junior is survived by two sisters, Eulah Gray and husband James and Avanell Gibson; sister-in-law, Kathy Kidd, all of Morehead; brother-in-law, Charles Wright of Benton, Arkansas; his canine baby girl, Lizzie; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael Kidd and Mitchell Kidd; one stepson, Lee Michael Scaggs (Tina) of Lawton; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Lynn Scaggs Hulett (Dustin) of Catlettsburg; a best friend he considered his adopted son, Michael Howard of Morgan County; and a host of grandchildren.
Junior owned and operated Kidd’s Distributors specializing in Mikesell’s Potato Chips. He was also the former owner of In & Out Snack Foods in Clearfield, Catfish Corner Pay Lake on Dry Creek, and Kitchen Facelift. Junior enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Ashley Kidd and Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating. (Live streaming of the service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on the Northcutt & Son Facebook page.) Burial will follow at the Kidd Family Cemetery in Blairs Mill.
Pallbearers will be his nephews Terry Kidd, Shawn Kidd, Matthew Kidd, Perry Ray Lewis, Glenn Lewis, and Herbie Lewis. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Howard.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
COVID-19 restrictions will be observed as set forth by the state.
