Bernard Lee Stone, age 84, of Morehead, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Windsor Care in Mt. Sterling.
He was born July 27, 1936, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Wyatt Stone and Laura Lewis Stone. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ramona Bintz, and two brothers, Edward Stone and Richard “Dick” Stone.
Bernard is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Regena Carter Stone; two daughters, Angela Lea White and husband Anthony of Morehead and Sheila Robin Harman and husband David of Olive Hill; two grandchildren, Evan White and wife Aleisha and Rachel White; one great granddaughter, Stella Layne White; one step granddaughter, Kristin Harman Vasey; and one step great granddaughter, Alina Grace Vasey.
Well known in the community, Bernard retired as an instructor from Rowan Technical Vocational School and was co-owner of Stone Pontiac-Buick-GMC for many years. He was one of the founders and a former Fire Chief of Route 377 Volunteer Fire Department and also a founder and past president of the Daniel Boone Firefighters Association. Bernard was a gentle and loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rick Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Members of Route 377 Volunteer Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation for Bernard Stone will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
COVID-19 mandates including masks and social distancing will be observed.
