Barbara Jean (Dunn) Hart

Barbara Jean Dunn Hart, age 66, of CCC Trail, Morehead, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the home of her sister in Clay City following an extended illness.

Born May 4, 1959, in Powell County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Dunn and Martha Elam Dunn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Hart on August 29, 2007.

Barbara is survived by her son, James Miller, Jr., and a special grandson, Colby Miller, both of Clay City; and a special friend, Clayton Maddox of Morehead. She is also survived by three brothers, David Dunn and Willard Dunn, both of Mt. Sterling, and Elmer Dunn of Waco; and four sisters, Sharon Lane and Maryann Thomas, both of Clay City, Karen Manley of Owingsville, and Delma Copley of Winchester. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.

Barbara was formerly employed in physical therapy rehabilitation at St. Claire Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandson, who was truly the light of her life.

At Barbara’s request, no public services will be held. A private burial will take place at Crix Cemetery.
