Barbara Ann (Johnson) Armstrong

Barbara Ann Johnson Armstrong, age 81, of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at her residence.

She was born January 22, 1941, in Bath County, and was a daughter of the late Martin and Ella Pearl Armstrong Johnson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Johnson, Hansford Johnson, and Ronnie Johnson; and three sisters, Nell McKenzie, Norma Charles, and Avonia Crouch.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 63 years, Mitchell Neil Armstrong, whom she married September 20, 1958; one daughter, Regina Wright of Lexington; one sister, Opal Jones of Mt. Sterling; two beloved grandchildren, Brooke Walters and Austin Wright; a host of nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Barbara was a private caregiver and a former housekeeping supervisor at the Holiday Inn in Morehead. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and was a fun-loving and happy person who lived life to the fullest. Barbara was a “spit fire” who never slowed down--she was always on the go. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Halstead officiating.  Burial will follow in New Alfrey Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Jason Armstrong, Scott Armstrong, Chris Armstrong, Gary McKenzie, Dennis McKenzie, Marty McKenzie, and Mark McKenzie.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
