Andrea "Andy" Leigh Story

Andrea “Andy” Leigh Story, age 70, of Sharkey Road, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at her residence.

She was born November 18, 1953, in Maysville, and was the daughter of the late U.G. “Buster” Story and Audrey L. “Billie” Hawkins Story. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Story, four brothers, David Lynn Story, Marshall Allen (Loretta) Story, Nelson “Tommy” Story, and Marion Neil Story; and nephew, Danny Story.

Andrea is survived by one brother, Bill Story and wife Judy of Hillsboro; sisters-in-law, Henrietta Thompson Story of Van Buren, Indiana, Darlene Royse Story of Bluffton, Indiana, and Rita Johnson Story of Hillsboro; nephews, Barry (Cherry) Story, Gary (Cindy) Story, Mike Story, and John (Marissa) Story; nieces, April (JC) Skaggs, Melissa (Josh) Plank, Amanda (Chris) Maynard, Peggy (Dave) Lovell, Penny (Bob) Buzzard, Amy (Jeremy) McKee, and Tina (Devin) Keplinger; numerous great nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Andrea was a retired case manager and registered ICU nurse for St. Claire Regional Medical Center after 44 years of dedicated service.  She was a 1971 graduate of Fleming County High School and received her nursing degree from Morehead State University.

She was an active member of Hillsboro Christian Church and a faithful volunteer at Hillsboro Food Pantry. She was an avid reader with a huge collection of books and loved U.K. basketball.  Andy’s greatest joy was spending time and supporting her “honorary grandchildren” (great nieces and nephews) Peyton and Taylor Skaggs, Trevor, Tanner, and Tyler Plank, Autumn, Amelia, and Corbin Maynard, and Madison and Jackson Story. Andy will be remembered for loving and caring for her family and will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Grimes and Brother Gerald Saunders officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Barry Story, Gary Story, John Story, JC Skaggs, Josh Plank and Trevor Plank. 

Honorary pallbearers:  Tanner Plank, Tyler Plank, Peyton Skaggs, Taylor Skaggs, Autumn Maynard, Amelia Maynard, Corbin Maynard, Madison Story, and Jackson Story.   

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
