Alma Ruth Cox McClurg, age 95, of Highway 213, Jeffersonville, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022, at Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling.
Born January 1, 1927, in Connersville, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Charles R. Cox and Gertrude Mae Cain Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Darrah and Helen Smith; and eight brothers, Francis Cox, Wilburn Cox, Wade Cox, Robert Cox, Keith Cox, Ralph Cox, Don Cox, and Ward Cox.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilford A. “Bud” McClurg on December 3, 1990, and two sons, Wilford “Bill” McClurg and Jerry McClurg.
Mrs. McClurg is survived by one son, Timothy McClurg of Jeffersonville; six grandchildren, Jack McClurg, Mary Ann McClurg, Jennifer Grubb, Charles McClurg, Judy Friedhoff, and Paul Friedhoff; a host of great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was homemaker and was a former nutritionist at hospitals and schools in Tucson, Arizona, and Southern California. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed going to church, gardening, participating in senior citizens programs in Montgomery County, and was an avid reader.
Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Halstead officiating. Burial will follow in Caudill Cemetery, Sharkey Road. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
