Allen Edward Farrell

Allen Edward Farrell, age 59, CCC Trail, Morehead, KY, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020, at his residence.  On October 22, 2016, he married his wife of almost four years, Melissa (Brown) Farrell.

Allen was born on May 14, 1961, in Altoona, PA.  He was the son of the late Alfred Richard Farrell and Helen Rife Farrell.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marianne Wolfel.

In addition to his wife, Allen is survived by two sons, Stefan (Amy) Farrell and Dominick Farrell; one grandchild, Gabriella; three brothers, A. Thomas (Patty) Farrell, Anthony (Brenda) Farrell, and Andrew Farrell; six sisters, Theresa (Michael) Bruno, Kathleen (Steve) Beauchamp, Diane (Dale) Faltisek, Sue (Doug) Farrell, Joan Farrell, and Kelly (Dean) Mercer, along with several nieces and nephews.

Allen was a 1979 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School in Altoona, PA, and earned his Associate of Science Management degree from Park College in 1994.  Allen worked for many years in the IT industry for various companies, retiring in 2015.  He was an avid fan of Penn State football, along with his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.  Allen loved Kentucky from the first time he visited Morehead.  He spoke often about how lucky he was to be living away from the “big city”.

Allen will be remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to make everyone laugh.  He enjoyed time spent with family and friends, always entertaining everyone around him.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Moore officiating.  (Live streaming of the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on the Northcutt & Son Facebook page.)  Burial will follow in Crix Cemetery, Oak Grove Road, in Morehead.

Allen’s son, Stefan, and members of the Elliottville Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
