Ada Mae Jenkins Gregory, age 98, of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at her home.
Born February 14, 1922, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Flora Ellen Blair Jenkins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Medford, Ray, and Ben Jenkins; four sisters, Marie Utterback, Margaret Hardin, Elizabeth Watson, and Avanell Snyder; a half-brother, Bob Johnson ; and a half-sister, Eva Neipling.
On May 25, 1940, Ada was united in marriage to Homer Gregory, her husband of 64 years. He passed away on August 14, 2004.
She is survived by one son, James Gregory (Kaye) of Winchester; three daughters, Barbara Ann Snell of Middletown, Ohio, Jeanette Parker of Houston, Texas, and Billie Jo Wells (David) of Morehead; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
She also leaves behind Lois Barker, Cheryl Whitt, and Keshi Whitt, who faithfully and lovingly cared for her for many years.
Mrs. Gregory was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, whose house was a home, not only for her family but also friends and neighbors. She enjoyed entertaining, antiquing, cooking, and working in her flowers. For years, she and Homer looked forward to spending winters in Florida. She was a member of the Morehead First Church of God for many years.
Due to the COVID-19 regulations set forth by the Governor, a private service for immediate family will be held Friday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Pastor Jeremy Halstead officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
