Zelda Venus Sergent Pennington Gregory, age 72, of Life Care Center of Morehead, formerly of Seas Branch Road, Morehead, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015, at the Life Care Center in Morehead. Born November 2, 1942, at Index in Morgan County, she was the daughter of the late McKinley and Effie Lewis Sergent. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one great grandchild, Shelby White; two sisters, Opal Gibson and Kathleen Jefferson; four brothers, Lorice Sergent, Chalmer Sergent, Adrian Sergent, and Lora Sergent; and father of her children, Bobby Vernon Pennington. She is survived by two daughters, Kim Hale of Lexington and Vicki Fisher and husband Daniel of Brooksville; two sons, Tony Pennington of Morehead and Brent Gregory and wife Tina of Morehead; seven grandsons, Allie 'Bucky' White Jr., Jeramy Hale, Derrik Hale, Nathan Pennington, and Blake Branham, all of Morehead, and Tanner Fisher and Tad Fisher, both of Brooksville; and two great grandchildren, Brady White and Emma Hale. Other survivors include two sisters, Freeda Martin of Centerville, Ohio, and Janice Jones and husband Burl of Morehead; one brother, Kenneth Virgil Sergent of Morehead; and several nieces and nephews. Zelda was a former employee of Cowden's Manufacturing Company in Morehead. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennington Cemetery. Pallbearers: Allie 'Bucky' White, Jr., Derrik Hale, Nathan Pennington, Tanner Fisher, Tad Fisher, Blake Branham, and Brady White.
