Yolanda Smedley passed away at the age of 51 on November 16, 2024, in Morehead, Kentucky.  She was born on January 6, 1973, in Madrid, Spain, to Maria L. Yuknus and George M. Yuknus.

Yolanda (affectionately known as "Yoli"), always loved music and had a great sense of humor.  Her outspoken personality was matched with a no-holds-barred attitude, but underneath it all was a woman with a heart of gold and undying loyalty to the ones she treasured.  One undeniable fact about Yolanda is never a dull moment was had in her presence.

Although Yolanda had personal struggles she dealt with in life, in no way should that define her as a person.  Instead, we choose to remember her for being the loving mother, sister, aunt, and daughter she always sought hard to be.  Furthermore, we honor the absolute love she had for her son little Stevie.  She would be the first to say that he is undoubtedly her greatest accomplishment.

While we are devastated by her sudden passing, we take solace in the fact that her soul is finally at peace. Yolanda is survived by her mother, Maria L. Yuknus; husband, Stephen Smedley; a son, Stephen (Little Stevie) Smedley; three sisters, Mary J. Bamrick, Maria L. Cintron, Julia M. Savvas; and a brother, George M. Yuknus III.

She was preceded in death by her father, George M. Yuknus, and grandmother, Mary J. Sweeney.

A visitation of remembrance will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Friday, November 22, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
