Woodrow "Junior" Hamm, age 75, of Monon, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Rowan County, Kentucky.

Born November 15, 1947, in Shelbyville, Indiana, Junior was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Hamm; his wife, Cheryl Hamm; and his son, Jonathan Hamm.

He is survived by one daughter, SunShine Henderson, and one granddaughter, Sheyanne Wharton, both of Lafayette, Indiana, as well as cousins, extended family and friends.

Junior was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the tunnel rats team of soldiers who performed underground search and destroy missions.  During his employment, he worked for various companies in the oil industry and retired from BP Amoco in Whiting, Indiana.

Junior enjoyed restoring tractors, attending tractor and car shows, swap meets, and anything "alien."  Most of all, he loved spending time with family, especially his granddaughter, Sheyanne.  He will be greatly missed and always remembered with love.

A military graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Masters Cemetery with Morehead American Legion Post 126 officiating and providing full military honors.
