Windell R. (Hutch) Hutchinson of Carbondale, IL, passed away March 1, 2017, with his family by his side. He was born to the late Bascom and Flona Lewis Hutchinson, November 10, 1934, in Isonville, KY. Hutch enlisted in the Army during the Korean War and served for more than 35 years active duty reserve and National Guard, most recently for 1244 Transportation Company and the 133rd Signal Battalion. Hutch was a Mason for over 45 years. He married Judith Schumacher on December 29, 1966, who survives him. Hutch retired in 1992. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing his vegetables with neighbors and friends. Hutch enjoyed nature, taking his daily walks in the countryside then spending time running errands with Judy or just enjoying life outside--sitting out on the picnic table watching the birds and wildlife. Hutch stayed busy with everyday projects and loved to fix anything mechanical. Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother Randall, and his sister Margaret. In addition to his wife, Hutch is survived by his sister: Jean (John) of Crockett, KY; his brothers: Carson (Faye) of West Liberty, KY; Wilber (Judy) of St. George, UT; his three children: Robert Keith (Richard Molter) of Carbondale; James Windell of Anna; Todd Jeffery (Karin) of Kokomo, IN; three grandchildren: Kyle Thomas (Callista Gibson), Trevor James and Paige Renee; and two great grandchildren: Luna Leanne and Olyn Thomas. He is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces and cousins. Visitation was held at the Walker Funeral Home in Carbondale, IL. Graveside services and burial will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the Bascom Hutchinson Family Cemetery in Crockett, KY, with Bro. Ashley Kidd officiating. Masonic services will be conducted by Hepburn-Elkhorn Lodge Brethren No. 576 and full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead is caring for arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to Morehead American Legion Post 126, P. O. Box 58, Morehead, KY 40351.
