Wilson 'PeeWee' Stamper, Jr., age 65, of Ridgeville, South Carolina, formerly of Morehead, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015, at his residence. He was born August 29, 1950, in Rowan County, a son of the late Wilson Stamper, Sr., and Reva Tackett Staton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Benetta 'Bunny' Walker and Molly Walker Dillon, and maternal grandparents, Jack C. and Nannie Brown Tackett. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth 'Beth' Stamper; his stepson, Thomas (Robin) Gaulden of James Island, South Carolina; his grandsons, Nicholas and Hodges Gaulden; his sister, Susan (Dave) Mullen of Winchester, Kentucky; his brother, James Walker of Dayton, Ohio; and his uncle, Harold (Joyce) Tackett of Morehead, Kentucky. Other survivors include nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. PeeWee graduated from Rowan County High School and attended Morehead State University. He owned and operated Wilson Roofing in Charleston for many years, was an avid U.K. basketball fan, and was very active in animals rescue in the Charleston area. He moved to the country to provide the best accommodations for his rescue animals, particularly his cats. PeeWee's unselfish contributions to family, friends, and community will be sadly missed. Private memorial services will be held in South Carolina and in Morehead. Funeral: Private services.
