Obituary

Wilma Crosthwaite Jackson, age 91, formerly of Pine Hills Subdivision, Morehead, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018, at the Life Care Center of Morehead, where she resided for several years. Born January 24, 1926, in Morehead, she was the daughter of the late Burl Millard Crosthwaite and Roxie Delene Hall Crosthwaite. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Crosthwaite. Wilma's devoted husband of 51 years, Edwin Earl Jackson, passed away December 31, 2001. Wilma is survived by three daughters and their spouses: Sharon and Richard Williams of Chesapeake, VA, Jeri and Kenneth Taylor of Morehead, and Toni Jackson and Jack Gorman of Hillsboro; six grandchildren: Christopher Cooper, Nathan Williams, Matthew Williams, Morgan Mynhier, Katie Williams, and Jared Taylor; and seven great grandchildren: Jacob Williams, Skylar Perry, Greyce Mestas, Abigail Perry, Caroline Cooper, Jackson Dulaney, and Jonah Richter. She is also survived by one sister, Loretta Crosthwaite Ferguson, of Morehead; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Wilma's family greatly appreciates the special care provided to Wilma by her Life Care Center family. Wilma was devoted to her family and enjoyed preparing meals for everyone. From soup beans and cornbread, to peanut butter pies, nobody went away hungry. Her home was the gathering place for family celebrations. A people person, she enjoyed making new friends and maintaining life-long friendships. She loved singing, quilting, holidays, and just enjoying life. She was known for her coordinated outfits, matching jewelry, and loved to laugh and joke. She was a member of Sunshine Homemakers and attended First Church of the Nazarene. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Tim Thomas and the Rev. Woody Berry officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson Family Cemetery on Jackson Cemetery Road. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
