Willie D. Johnson, 84, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, at St. Joseph East in Lexington. Born April 24, 1932, in Farmers, he was the son of the late Wm. Thomas and Rozennie Caudill Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Ellis (Dean) Johnson, Keenis (Eula) Johnson, Ivan (Opal) Johnson, Vernon Johnson, Russell Johnson, and Earl Johnson; sisters: Eva (Jim) Bower, Ethel (Leroy) Binion, Nellie (Russell) Eldridge, Oma Faye (Justin) Vice; and infant sister, Ella Johnson. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Lou Ellen Hurst Johnson; sons: Joey (Kim) Johnson of Crestwood and Todd (Melina) Johnson of Hillsboro; a daughter, Stephanie (Willis) Denton of Hillsboro; four grandsons, Gary, Ben (Lauren), Dustin, and Nicholas Johnson; one granddaughter, Lauren Johnson; and one great-granddaughter, Ryan Hadley Johnson. Other survivors include a brother, Tom (Marge) Johnson of Hobart, Indiana; a sister, Clarice (Jim) Wiley of Anderson, Indiana; sister-in-law, Helen Johnson of Hillsboro; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Johnson was a U.S. Army veteran, enlisting to serve his country during the Korean War. He retired from Kahn's, last working as a security guard and was active in his church, Fox Valley Community Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, working in his yard, gospel music, and visiting with family. He also enjoyed many winters in his Englewood, Florida, home, where other family members and friends resided. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery. Full military honors will be presented at the graveside by W.N. Fant American Legion Post No. 5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834. Pallbearers are his grandsons: Gary, Ben, Dustin, and Nicholas Johnson, Willis Denton, Paul Taylor, and Johnny Jett. Honorary pallbearers: Marion Crawford, Harold Sorrell, and Jr. Marshall. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Hillsboro Christian Church, 85 Denton Street, Hillsboro, KY 41049, Fox Valley Community Church, c/o Debbie Muse, 406 Muses Mill Rd., Wallingford, KY 41093, or Hillsboro Methodist Church, c/o Rev.
