Obituary

Willie L. "Bill" Rose, age 82, of Haldeman Road, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.

Bill was born February 17, 1942, in Carter County, the son of the late Orvil Rose and Ethel Gladys Franklin Rose. Bill had seven siblings:  two brothers, Bobby Lee Rose and Billy Rose, and five sisters, Charlene Stone, Geraldine Kenderskie, Inez Marie Winkler, Brooke Avis Stein, and his twin sister, Mildred Hanfelder.

Willie's wife, Helen Louise Miller Rose, preceded him in death on October 24, 2018.

He is survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Willie was a member of Teamster Local 505 in Huntington, West Virginia, and retired in 2003 as a truck driver for various companies.  A Christian, he was saved April 17, 1995, while driving on I-64 to work at Ashland Oil. He attended Bowen Chapel Church and greatly enjoyed going to church, talking on his amateur radio to people all over the world, hunting, and walking at least five miles on a daily basis.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Northcutt Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Justin Wagoner and Brother Elijah Wagoner officiating.  Burial will follow in Garvin Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
