Obituary

William 'Bill' Wages, age 80, of Hungry Hollow Road, Morehead, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born October 17, 1934, in Farmers, he was the only child of the late Charlie and Velma Lewis Wages. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one great-great granddaughter, Alainna Wages Patrick. Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alverta Musall Wages, whom he married June 19, 1954; five sons, William Allen Wages and wife Belinda, Wade Wages and wife Jeri, Wayne Wages, Wesley Wages, and Willard Wages and wife Stacy, all of Morehead; two daughters, Wilma Markwell and husband Anthony and Dianna Wages, all of Morehead; eight grandchildren, Billy Allen Wages, Wade Lee Wages, Melissa Ann Enterkin and husband Billy, Chase Wages, Shane Wages, Teresa Tackett, Mark Wages, and Morgan Wages; and several great grandchildren. Bill was a former sawmill worker and mechanic. He enjoyed watching Westerns and the History Channel on television and was of the Christian faith. He will be sadly missed. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery in Midland. Pallbearers: Billy Allen Wages, Wade Lee Wages, Shane Wages, Jordan Wages, Teresa Tackett, and Anthony Markwell. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
