William E. 'Bill' Thompson, age 77, of Stockton Road, Wallingford, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at his home. Born January 28, 1936, in Delaplaine, Arkansas, he was a son of the late Fred Thompson and Maude L. Cobb. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Thompson, and one sister, Bonnie Cobb. Bill is survived by his wife, Phyllis Bowman Cox Thompson, whom he married August 18 1992; one son, Michael Ray Thompson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three daughters, Cathy Kingery and husband Park of Crown Point, Indiana, Eva Cloyd and husband Steve of Portage, Indiana, and Mellody Forsythe and husband Mike of Lake Station, Indiana; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Other survivors include one brother DeCalvis Cobb of Sikeston, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Allred of Lilburn, Missouri, and Sherry Dautel of Lakeville, Minnesota; other relatives; and very special friends. Mr. Thompson served in the U.S. Air Force; retired from Mid-West Steel in Portage, Indiana; and was a longtime member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association. He attended Charity Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowman Cemetery on Jones Ridge with military honors by Morehead American Legion Post 126. Pallbearers: Park Kingery, Frank Starling, Billy Thomas, Matt Forsythe, P. J. Kingery, and Bob Howton. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Saturday, October 12, 2013, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Sunday, October 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. Interment: Bowman Cemetery
