William R.
"Rick" Bradley
Jun 7, 1949 — May 24, 2020
William R. "Rick" Bradley, age 70, of Morehead, was born June 7, 1949, in Lexington, and passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020, in his home from a long illness acquired during his military service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. "Bill" Bradley and Phyllis Ann "Pucky" Jayne Bradley, and his beloved dog, Curly Sue.
Rick is survived by his wife, Yvonne Armstrong Bradley; his daughter, Dana Bradley Quesinberry (John); his grandson and wife, Will and Shelby Quesinberry; his granddaughter, Maggie Quesinberry; and his great grandson, John William "Junior" Quesinberry, Jr.; and his beloved dog, Phoebe, all of Morehead.
He is also survived by his sister, Cathy Bradley Kays of Frankfort; his nephew, Bradley Kays (Kristi) and family of Lawrenceburg; and his Bradley and Jayne cousins.
Rick graduated from Breckinridge Training School. His attendance at Morehead State University was interrupted by eight years of service in the Unites States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After active duty, he returned to Morehead State University and completed his degree. Rick also served 12 years in the U.S. Army Reserves as a tank commander.
Rick graduated from the Lumber Inspector School of the National Hardwood Lumber Association. He began his career in the lumber industry as a lumber inspector and kiln operator for Homer Gregory & Company. This job led to his favorite job of teaching lumber inspecting at Rowan Vocational School and countless short courses all over the Commonwealth. He also taught a variety of courses at Maysville Community and Technical College.
Later, Rick owned his own title abstract company, Morehead Title & Mortgage, and worked for Morehead State University.
Besides his love for his family, Rick is known for his passionate love of golf, all things with wheels—motorcycles, four-wheelers, camping, and dune buggies—and dancing with his wife in the living room. He enjoyed bringing Morehead's history to life in his role in the play, Bloody Rowan . He was a member and past master (2015) of the Phelps Masonic Lodge No. 482. Rick was a member of the Morehead United Methodist Church.
