William 'Bill' Nickell, also known as 'Big Red,' age 68, of McBrayer Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born February 3, 1944, in Middletown, Ohio, he was a son of Odas and Myrtle Stephens Nickell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Nickell. Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Shirley Helton Nickell; two daughters, Barbara Ann Gregory and husband Mike and Crystal Nickell; two granddaughters, Felicia Dawn Rose and Shawnda Renee Glover; three great granddaughters, Breanna Dawn Ison, Savannah Renee Ison, and Shyann Renee Hinton; and two great grandsons, Keith Memphis Hinton and Kamron Rose, all of Morehead, Kentucky. Other survivors include five brothers, June Nickell of Wallingford, Kentucky, Ernie Nickell of Mayslick, Kentucky, Paul Nickell and Earl Nickell, both of Morehead, Kentucky, and Murphy Nickell of West Palm Beach, Florida; two sisters, Roberta Clark of Brinegar, Kentucky, and Frances Lineberry of Moorpark, California; many nieces and nephews; other family members; and friends. Bill, a retired truck driver, spent 38 years in local and cross-country driving and was a former driver for Ken-Mor Stone and Crisp Trucking Company. He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling and was also an avid U.K. basketball fan. A very loving family man, Bill was a devoted husband, dad, and papa. He was a member of Morehead First Apostolic Church. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kenneth L. Binion and Assistant Pastor Charles Scully officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Mike Gregory, Keith Hinton, Ricky Stevens, Jason Rose, June Nickell, Mason Manning, and Lee Binion. Honorary pallbearers: Bob Johnson, Jay McCormick, Dr. Steven M. Koenig, Earl Nickell, and members of the Morehead First Apostolic Church. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Friday, January 11, 2013, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 1 p.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
