William Columbus Lewis, age 91, of Henderson Ridge, Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at UK St. Claire Hospital in Morehead.

William was born June 28, 1933, in Sandy Hook, a son of the late Steve Thompson Lewis and Gladys Fannin Lewis.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Clara Melinda Moore Lewis, who passed away April 17, 2019, and one son, Timmy Lewis, who passed away April 30, 2011. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Eleanor Lewis, Bonnie Shumate, Lowrella Skaggs, and Martha Lewis.

He is survived by four sons, Larry Lewis, Mickey Lewis, Terry Lewis, and Billy Lewis and wife Kissimmee; and one daughter, Pauline Lewis Eldridge; a daughter-in-law, Crystal Lewis, all of Olive Hill; 9 grandchildren, David Lewis, Michael Lewis, Amelia Eldridge Day and husband William, Adam Eldridge, Matthew Lewis and wife Renee, Anthony Lewis, Catrina Lewis Compton and husband Nicholas, Trinity Lewis, and Sawyer Lewis; and 21 great grandchildren.

William is also survived by two brothers Eugene Lewis and wife Garnett of Fairborn, Ohio, and Jerry Lewis of Sandy Hook; four sisters Hazel Barker of Fairborn, Betty Ison and husband Billy Gene of Springfield, Ohio, Evelyn Hollon and husband Paul of Danville, Kentucky, Patty Allen and husband Robert of Henderson, Nevada; many nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

He was a lifelong farmer and logger. William was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, building furniture, and spending time with family. He will be remembered with love and greatly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Brother Mike Williams and Brother Roger Nolty officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery in Carter County.

Pallbearers:  Andrew Eldridge, Jacob Eldridge, Matthew Lewis, Michael Lewis, Leon Lewis, Herman Conn, William Day and Anthony Lewis. Honorary pallbearer: Sawyer Lewis

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
