William Alex Lee, age 79, of Ashgrove Drive, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at his residence. Born October 8, 1930, in Clark County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late John and Dollie Wingate Lee. Alex is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Parks Lee; three sons, Bret (Kathy) Lee, Kevin (Becky) Lee, and Deron -Red- Lee, all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and seven grandchildren, Whitney, Tyler, MacKenzie, Drew, Sam, Dalton, and Laikyn Lee. Other survivors include three sisters, Marjorie Birch and Alberta Lee, both of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and Juanita Eades of Moultrie, Georgia; one brother, Larry Lee of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and a special friend, Kathleen Schutter of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Alex was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, a retired foreman of Bundy Tubing in Winchester, Kentucky, and a farmer. He was a member of the Camargo Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2010, at the Mt. Sterling First Church of God with Frank Curtis and Keith Ruthenburg officiating. Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Visitation is from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010, at the Mt. Sterling First Church of God, 1051 Camargo Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
