William Chalmer Johnson, age 65, of Bluebank Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born February 11, 1947, in Morgan County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Kelly and Chloe Conley Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Cynthia Louise Cornett Johnson, on May 18, 1994, and four sisters, Sylvia Tipton, Burdi Carpenter, Linda Combs, and Faye Hammons. He is survived by the mother of his children, Linda Sue Epperhart of Morehead, Kentucky; two sons, William C. Johnson, Jr., of Morehead, Kentucky, and Joshua Clay Johnson and Ally of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Jessica Johnson of Morehead, Kentucky; and two grandchildren, Kaitlin Johnson and Ethan Johnson. Other survivors include one brother, Frank Johnson of Dorrance, Kansas; four sisters, Jean Scott, Sue Lawson, and Martha Meadows, all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and Annie Hunt of Owingsville, Kentucky; and nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Chalmer served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Safe Driver Badge, Bronze Star Medal, and Sharpshooter (Rifle). A retired carpenter and construction worker, he enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post 126. Pallbearers: Kenny Fulton, Bret Hamilton, William Maze, B. J. Thompson, Ethan Johnson, and Danny Thompson, Jr. Honorary pallbearers: Danny Thompson, Sr., Clarence Morris, Jeff Weaver, Ryan Logan, Jeff Caldwell, and Brian Morris.
