Obituary

William (Bill) Fultz, age 84, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at his residence. He was born April 19, 1925, in Rowan County, Kentucky, son of the late Charlie and Callie Bailey Fultz. Bill is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Lyons Fultz, whom he married June 27, 1951; two sons and their wives, Paul and Linda Fultz of Morehead, Kentucky, and Donnie and Beth Fultz of Louisville, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Whitney Fultz, Jeff Fultz, and Michael Fultz. Also surviving are four sisters, Inita Sparkman, Betty Jo Davis, and Phyllis Utterback, all of Morehead, Kentucky, and Jeanette Madden of Carter County, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews. Bill retired from Cowden Manufacturing Company after 30 years of service. Fondly known as the -Lawnmower Man,- he enjoyed tinkering with all types of equipment, gardening, and antiques. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a Christian for over 40 years, and a member of Johnson First Church of God. Bill was a friend to all in need and a very devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be lovingly remembered by all. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mike Pennington and Rev. Ben Furman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mabry Cemetery on Knipp Road. Active Pallbearers: Bill Buck, Keith Buck, Bobby Patrick, Steve Madden, Doug Morgan, Dale Davis, Shane Phelps, and Dusty Phelps. Honorary Pallbearers: Roger Fultz, Mickey Madden, Johnny Hatfield, Dwight Clark, Chalmer Utterback, and William Utterback. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Claire Hospice, 222 Medical Circle, Morehead, KY 40351. Visitation: Friday, August 14, 2009, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, August 15, 2009, at 1 p.m. Interment: Mabry Cemetery
