William Darrell Fugett, Sr., age 85, of McBrayer Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, formerly of West Liberty, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at his residence.

Born June 16, 1940, in West Liberty, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Norman E. and Cassie C. Watkins Fugett.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Anne Callihan and Sandra J. "Sandy" Fugett Ferguson.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Pauline Utterback Fugett, whom he married April 11, 1962; two sons: William Fugett, Jr. of Havana, Illinois, Rodney Fugett (Sandy) of Morehead, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Jessie Fugett and Shelby Halliday (Nathan); and two great grandchildren, Saylor and Andi Halliday.

Other survivors include one brother, Dwayne P. Fugett (Janice) of Washington Court House, Ohio; one sister, Norma Jean Adams (Lawrence), of New Carlisle, Ohio; brother-in-law, Barry Ferguson of Flatwoods; several nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends.

Darrell was a retired carpenter and worked for various construction companies in Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, and Kentucky. He was a life-long farmer, raising hay and tobacco. He was blessed to be able to do something he loved for many years. Darrell will be greatly missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351. Graveside services will follow at Brown Cemetery with Brother Dwayne Fugett officiating.

Pallbearers:  Quenton Ennis, Richie Ferguson, Brent Ferguson, Tim Adams, Nathan Halliday, Scott Utterback, Tanner Hopson, and Mike Wicker.  Honorary pallbearers:  Donald Fannin, Danny Fannin, and Cohen Utterback.
