Obituary

William Allen Crowe, age 92, of West Sun Street, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012, at his home. Born August 21, 1919, in Powell County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Asa and Myrtie Wells Crowe. Allen is survived by his wife of almost 66 years, Birdie E. Johnson Crowe, whom he married May 2, 1946; two daughters, Janet Crowe Irvine and husband Craig of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Alanda Sue Crowe Christian and husband John of Junction City, Ohio, as well as a dear friend and cousin who was considered a daughter, Mallie Wells Adkins and husband Mike of Morehead, Kentucky; three grandchildren and their spouses, Suzette and Charles Shuster, Deanna and Jeremy Massey, and David Allen and Jessica Christian; and five great grandchildren, Abby Dickerson, Alison Dickerson, Novalye Christian, C. J. Shuster, and Zoey Jane Massey. He is also survived by one brother, Glenwood Crowe and wife Lela, and one niece, Peggy Lou Angel and husband Everett, all of Georgetown, Kentucky; several cousins; and special friend, Shirley Anderson and husband Fred of Junction City, Ohio. Mr. Crowe served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sergeant in the Anti-Tank Company 105th Infantry. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon w/2 Bronze Stars, American Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Allen retired from Homer Gregory Company after 30 years of service. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Dr. Jack Ellis officiating. Full military honors will be presented by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, Kentucky. Pallbearers: John Christian, Craig Irvine, Mike Adkins, David Christian, Jeremy Massey, Charles Shuster, and Harvard Alfrey. Visitation is 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Monday, April 16, 2012, from 6 p.m - 8 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. Interment: Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, KY, Tuesday at 2 p.m.
