William Thomas Centers, age 94, of Howell-Drennen Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. He was born June 1, 1915, in Menifee County, Kentucky, son of the late James Captian Centers and Emma Lou Brown Centers. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Frank Thomas Centers, and one granddaughter, Rebecca Sue Perez. Mr. Centers is survived by his wife, Thelma Irene Bennett Centers; one daughter, Margaret Elizabeth (Hubert) Mayo of Winchester, Kentucky; two sons, David Allen (Janice) Centers of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and Gerald Wayne Centers of Springboro, Ohio; five grandchildren, Tamra Marks, David Allen Centers, Christopher Centers, Dr. Shawn Centers, and Taunya Centers Kelly; and 12 great grandchildren. Mr. Centers was a former employee of the Kentucky Department of Transportation, a farmer, and a member of the Antioch Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2009, at the Gateway Christian Church with Glenn Emery officiating. Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Fortune, Denny Marks, David Allen Centers, Jr., Hubert Mayo, Steve Mahoney, and Christopher Centers. Visitation is Friday, August 7, 2009, from noon until 2 p.m. at Gateway Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, KY.
