Bill Weaver, Sr.

William Ray 'Bill' Weaver, Sr., age 77, of Crain Creek, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born March 9, 1938, in Fleming County, a son of the late Earl Weaver and Rebecca Frances Skaggs Weaver. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Earl Jr., Noah Ronald, David Eugene 'Gene', Estill Carl, and James Arnold Weaver. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Loretta Jones Weaver, whom he married January 9, 1958; two sons, Donald 'Gene' Weaver and wife Sharron and William 'Ray' Weaver, Jr. and wife Cindy, and two daughters , Joyce Cox and husband Ralph and Debra Weaver, all of Crain Creek; 9 grandchildren, Donna (Mark) Hendrix, Billy Ray Weaver, Angie (Phillip) Bolin, Daniel Pence, Dallas Cox, Hoot (Krissie) Thompson, B. J. (Melanie) Thompson, Ashton Weaver, and Sarah (Cody) Emmons; and 11 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include three brothers, Bob Weaver, Earnie Weaver, and Edsell Weaver, all of Crain Creek; one sister, Virginia Mann of Flemingsburg; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Mr. Weaver was owner and operator of Weaver Construction and attended the Mt. Pisgah Christian Church. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and lived life to its fullest. Most of all, Bill loved being with his family and will be missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jared DeAtley, the Rev. James DeAtley, and the Rev. James Humphries officiating. Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery on Weaver Hollow. Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Weaver, Daniel Pence, Hoot Thompson, BJ Thompson, Ashton Weaver, Dakota Bolin, and Laton Weaver. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Thursday, September 3, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral: Friday, September 4, 2015, at 2 p.m. Interment: Weaver Cemetery
