Obituary

Wilda E. Debord Slone, age 81, of CCC Trail, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at her residence. She was born April 16, 1930, in Rowan County, Kentucky, daughter of the late William Amos and Annabelle Thornsberry Debord. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ivan Debord; six sisters, Elizabeth Morehouse, Corda Morehouse, Laura Fraley, Rosie Campbell, Nellie Tackett, and Francis Debord; a son-in-law, Ronnie Lewis; and a grandson, Neil Lewis. Wilda is survived by her husband, Orville Slone, whom she married March 14, 1949; three daughters, Barbara Wilson, Judy Slone, and Diana Blanton, all of Morehead, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Mary Ann (Bert) McIntosh, Jason Lewis, Mark Anthony McBrayer, and Lynsey Blanton; and three great grandchildren, Bert and Dalton McIntosh, and Amber Arnett. Other survivors include one sister, Eula Vise of Hillsboro, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews. Wilda enjoyed her family-especially her grandchildren-home, and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and listening to Christian music. The family is so very grateful for all who helped care for Wilda and extends a special thank you to Della Porter and St. Claire Home Health, Hospice and Pallative Care employees. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. H. G. Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bert McIntosh, Bert Edward McIntosh, Jason Lewis, Mike Vise, Jack Vise, and Charlie Winkleman. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Claire Hospice, 222 Medical Circle, Morehead, KY 40351. Visitation: Friday, November 4, 2011, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 1 p.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
