Obituary

Wilburn R. Moore, age 65, of Lexington, formerly of Oak Grove Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2007, in the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born March 27, 1942, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he is the son of Elsie Conn Moore of Morehead and the late Charles -Clella- Moore. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cheryl Beckelhymer Moore; one son, Jeffrey Moore of Tampa Florida; one daughter, Lori Sloan of Morehead, Kentucky; two step-daughters, Lisa (Harold) Lamb of Lexington, Kentucky, and Kristy (Stephen) Hughes of Bryantsville, Kentucky; three brothers, Jesse Franklin Moore, Charles Moore, and Sidney Moore, all of Morehead, Kentucky; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Besides his father, one grandchild, John Morgan, preceded him in death. He retired from International Harvesters in Springfield, Ohio, where he was an employee for 30 years. Following his retirement, he was a school bus driver for Rowan County schools for several years. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1963-69 and was a member of the Slab Camp Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles Moore and Rev. Herbie Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Crix Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Catron, Harold Lamb, Stephen Hughes, Kenny Thornsberry, Herman Mabry, and nephews Todd Moore and Kyle Moore. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Wednesday, August 1, 2007, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Thursday, August 2, 2007, at 1 p.m. Interment: Crix Cemetery
